JOANNA D. BRICK
FOR THIRD WARD COUNCILOR

Joanna Brick moved to Montclair several years ago, attracted to its urban environment and cultural diversity. Brick is an attorney with broad legal experience and a focus on children’s issues in domestic proceedings. She also has expertise in real estate, fi nancing and environmental law, which will bring substantial benefi t to the residents of Montclair. Brick is hoping to instill more confidence in Montclair’s municipal government and to revitalize the enthusiasm and pride in our town. Thrive Montclair is honored to bring her wealth of expertise aboard.

Brick is a senior attorney at Simon & Enright in Morris Plains, N.J. She is an active volunteer with Partners for Women and Justice in Montclair and with the Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Project (BWLAP) in Morris County, N.J.

Brick received her J.D. from New York Law School and a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont. During her undergraduate studies, she was employed with Chittenden County, Vermont’s recycling department, where she assisted in implementing and publicizing Vermont’s nationally recognized recycling program. She was later employed at two large law fi rms where she worked on environmental asbestos litigation. During law school, she worked for the City of New York’s Administration of Children’s Services (ACS) in its abuse and neglect division, where she prosecuted parents and guardians who were not acting in the best interests of their children.

When not focusing on the law, Brick enjoys running in Montclair, and exploring its many culinary delights.
